Vote YES on Measure G
MEASURE G AT A GLANCE:
The bond is a continuation of funding/renews the same tax rate approved by voters in 2002; the new bond will be phased in as the 2002 bond is phased out.
Our aging facilities (e.g. Magnolia was built in 1939 and OHS was built in 1948) are in critical need of costly major upgrades and modernization, far exceeding our annual facility maintenance and repair budgets.
Projects are focused on the health, safety, security, and modernization needed to support our students’ learning environment.
Our district has the lowest per pupil bond cost of any district in the county.
Without Measure G, the district will not qualify for matching facility funds from the state.
Funds stay in Oakdale and cannot be used for salaries; a local community member oversight committee will review and audit expenditures.
Our schools are some of the most important assets in our community and should be our number one priority. From higher achieving students to greater neighborhood safety and improved property values, quality schools make a difference. Although teachers and staff do a great job educating our children, many classrooms and buildings in the Oakdale Joint Unified School District need to be upgraded to provide students with the proper school facilities they need to succeed.
We need your yes vote on Measure G. While our schools have been well maintained over the years, old classrooms and facilities must be improved. The average age of our schools in the District is over 55 years old. Measure G would improve the quality of education provided to local students by upgrading, renovating, and modernizing aging and outdated facilities.
Measure G, if passed, will improve all District schools including:
Expanding and renovating career technical classrooms and labs (Ag, Auto, Architectural/Drafting, Woodshop, Computers, Healthcare, etc.) to better prepare students for employment after high school
Repairing or replacing leaky roofs
Replacing single pane windows, outdated heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems. Our district's monthly utility bill is $110,000!
Upgrading and renovating inadequate and deteriorating electrical, plumbing, and sewer systems
Making safety and security improvements throughout the District
Measure G upgrades and repairs old, inadequate classrooms, improves the education of students, and maintains the quality of our community. That’s something we can all support. Please join us and VOTE YES ON MEASURE G!
